Legacy Cannabis reopens with new name, new location – Duluth News Tribune

DULUTH — Legacy Cannabis (previously known as Legacy Glassworks) recently relocated to 1906 W. Superior St. Its new site was formerly home to

Corktown Deli and Brews.

“Opening Legacy has been an incredible journey that would have ended long ago without our Duluth family,” founder Josh Wilken-Simon said in a news release. “As the legacy continues in Lincoln Park, we are looking forward to offering the community locally made products of the highest quality, including hand-blown Minnesota glass pipes, locally produced

cannabis products

and so much more.”

General Manager Jonny Castle said Lincoln Park was a more fitting location for the craft-oriented business.

“Lincoln Park has definitely been developing a lot. We work a lot with Bent Paddle as well and host events over there. And a big part of the community we work with is over this way, so we wanted to be around all of that. Traffic over here is great to tourism and whatnot,” Castle said.

The move will double the overall floor space of the store. The new shop features a grow section. THC edibles and drinks have also been successful, and Legacy has expanded in those areas.

Legacy Glassworks had been located downtown on First Street for 13 years.

Legacy also has a shop co-owned with David Wilken in Minneapolis that opened seven years ago, which offers glass-blowing classes.

While it will continue to offer locally made glass, tobacco will no longer be sold at its new location, according to the news release.

“Staying true to the craft side of things is a reason for not having tobacco and vapes and stuff like that around anymore,” Castle said. “We barely made margins on it over there, but just quantity-wise, it’s a very addictive substance. The big tobacco companies have done a good job getting a huge portion of our population addicted to the chemicals they put out, but ultimately, consciously and morally, we just don’t want to be a part of that system anymore.”

The Lincoln Park shop will run as a dispensary, offering more than 100 THC beverages, more than 100 different edibles, cannabis seeds, grow equipment and more. Legacy also sells pipes, clothing, art and other merchandise.
