Maine police bust 8 different marijuana grow operations in less than a week

More than 9,800 marijuana plants were seized by police across Maine in less than a week.

Police served search warrants at seven marijuana grow operations in Penobscot, Somerset and Piscataquis counties on Feb. 8 and Feb. 9. The homes had been transformed into grow operations, leaving some with inhumane living conditions.

The multiple busts in a few days were a coincidence and not coordinated between agencies, Penobscot County Sheriff Chief Deputy John Knappe said. The sheriff’s office found out shortly before their raid that others were being conducted.
