  1. Studies that look at "any-cause mortality" are very weird to me. One of the studies that I found very informative and I think should get way more attention (but doesn't because it was reported from the wrong perspective IMO) comes from the Caerphilly Cohort (gigantic study, one of the biggest ever, where they followed nearly all the males in an entire town for many years, collecting mountains of data from all of them) and it includes an 'any-cause mortality' part. They found that the people in the study who had fewer than 2 orgasms per week on average were twice as likely to die from any cause over the course of the study. Which just seems like a weird observation. So does it increase your risk of falling down the stairs? Getting hit by a car? Weird. They did also find radically increased likelihood of heart disease and heart attacks as well as a whole host of other negative health consequences for the group in the under-2-per-week group, though, and those findings seem more sensible. They also found a strong dose-response relationship where people who had 2+ orgasms per week were healthier, and the more orgasms they had the healthier they were with no ceiling. But instead of reporting that as "health dangers of abstinence", they reported it as "health benefits of more sex", which less people are likely to read. People read things that claim to show a danger, but they just skip over the things that claim a benefit. Especially if it's something saying 'get out there and bust nuts, its good for you', that goes against the medias desire to tell people that everything they like and enjoy is going to destroy them.

    Why has nobody mentioned this? This was the first thing that stood out to me skimming the abstract.

    Additionally when looking at papers you have to look at the policies of the journal publishing them.

  3. Ridiculous it’s a lie. It’s just them spreading more rumors. Who backed this research have you looked into that? Find out who the researcher were. Or paid for them most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard people have been fasting since the beginning of time. Literally our ancestors fasted because they couldn’t eat for three days at a time. This is absurd, not all research is accurate because a lot of research is funded by people who want a certain outcome and I don’t even know this is ridiculous. I should start again because of this.

The fact that these "researchers" issued an obviously provocative press release of a preliminary observational study with counterintuitive, shocking findings is little better than just fabricating a study with imaginary data that supports fake results. They need to go back to peddling NFT's and courses on making millions with drop shipping.

  5. Wonder what the all-cause mortality rates were for those time windows. The numbers could easily show people being more likely to live longer, but also more likely to die of a CVD. Or no difference at all in length of life, but less likely to die from cancer. Or being 4 times as likely to survive A CVD due to being much healthier. The reality is that the headline is a nothing burger and was created simply to drum up interest and funding. The clickbait trend has infiltrated our science unfortunately.

    It's a 91% increase in death, not 91% death.
    So if 100 out of 100,000 non-fasters die during the timespan, 191 8-hour intermittent fasters do.
    That's an 0.91% death rate, not a 91% death rate.

    INFLATION = Food cost more $ so people are buying less food. People going into autophaghy getting healthy.

    The CEOs of these organizations have monetary priorities. Healthy people and low processed food sales do not contribute to their agenda.

  8. Fake study. My question is, why did people not die from this over thousands of years. We know that people have not always eaten 3 meals a day. And what about the Covid Vax link. Was it an observation or clinical study? What about farmers of the past?

  9. It’s is the same reason weight loss surgery can increase your chances of neurological diseases. Toxins gets stored in fat, cell,organs,etc. fasting can cause weight loss and autophagy. So where do the toxins and debris goes? Well it depends on your detoxification system and available storage. It’s the same reason why some runners get heart attacks. We stored toxins in the body if the liver lacks the nutrients to pull it out. When you lose weight, burn fat, kill cells, the toxins grts pull back into the bloodstream. The longer they recirculate in the bloodstream, the higher chance of a heart attack.

    But it’s really an indicator of a defective detoxification system. Many of the healthy things we are doing are putting toxins into the bloodstream so you need to make sure that your liver have the nutrients, your kidney and lymphatic are draining well, you are drinking fluids and eating the right type of foods that can cleanse the blood.

    But in the long run, it should also lowers the rate of heart problems cuz fasting can lower inflammation, giving your gut a chance to heal, and rebuild the gut barrier.

  11. I can see how people MIGHT be at greater risk of death if they have underlying cardiovascular issues already, as fasting does have the side effect of heart palpitations in some people. Although, this study was really bad and perhaps they're being lobbied by food companies.

    Theres no money in healthy people.

    This is purely anecdotal. ALL of my health numbers are excellent now since I started fasting, aka, eating less overall and less crap.

    The adult human body does NOT need to consume food 3, 4, 5 times in a waking day.
    Our insulin and dopamine are now whacked out with the availability and frequency of food and processed food. Insulin was a stand-by chemical for humans to consume starchy carbohydrates and fruits, grains, grasses when animal kills were scarce. Dopamine was a relax chemical for the brain when we found food, water, shelter, etc. now it is an addiction.
    Neither insulin nor dopamine should be coursing through our brain and body all day everyday.

  13. 91%! Science is turning into comedy. No wonder people are confused.
    Humans and other species have gone through lean and fattening periods, and it hasn't caused death.
    Processed foods, chemically treated crops, pharmaceuticals, large amounts of carbohydrates, and sedentary excess is causing poor health and early death.

  14. The full study is not yet released? You're working from the abstract? So it's not even vetted and peer-reviewed, much less published! And you don't even know how the researchers interpret the meaning of the 91% statistic! But you know how to?

  15. completely riduculous. do ya think that ancient people all had a good 3 meals per day? no they when and if they could and long hours without food routinely. when they come out suddenly against something like this nowdays it is a red flag that it is really good for you. your health is under attack from every side, food, water, so called healthcare and so on. probably some of harvards fake research haha

  16. And the exact point is: 7 people who fast died whereas 4 died who didn't fast. All lifestyles, all food types, all exercise, all work. Preliminary reports are interesting and educational.

  17. Well, those of us who know how to think, can clearly see that the HEALTH SYSTEM will lie in order to continue raking in profits by recommending adverse things to do which keeps you sick. The health care medical system doesn’t work if everyone takes care of themselves…
