Try to simmer as low a temperature…. Thc is oil based ,it should rise in an oily sheen you can see. Spoon off, allow moisture to evaporate as disired…. After completely drying I cook it up like crack with only bacon soda…. It tastes, smells, and gets you amazingly where you want to be. Enjoy, bon appetite.
Question mine came out super dark. I haven’t strained it but I did about 12g of shake and 1 cup everclear it soaked for one day and already have the dark color. I decarbed in my LEVO on the recommended time. The first batch just 7g with 1 cup everclear then I was worried I added too much everclear and added about 5g I still smell a bit of the everclear but not as strong but was wondering did I do anything wrong?
If you're in a state where you can buy legal concentrate, it is very easy to make a tincture. After you decarb the concentrate (to make it psychoactive) combine with everclear. One ounce liquid is 590 drops from a dropper. It's easy to calculate mg THC/drop. 1 gram = 1,000 mg so if my gram of concentrate is 80% THC, then there are 800 mgs of THC in that gram. Distillate is already decarbed.

Ethanol for the alcohol and the freezer for extraction.
