  1. I admire how you stand up for yourself, especially with difficult owners, while remaining professional. I used to have a housecleaning business and people would get passive aggressive when Iā€™d raise my rates even $5 an hour, even when Iā€™d worked for them for 5+ years. Itā€™s as if they thought that inflation only affected them or maybe they thought I didnā€™t pay taxesā€¦? The amount of disrespect I experienced from entitled people was shocking. Iā€™d stand my ground on it, but it was difficult and I donā€™t think I had your grace. So, well done šŸŽ‰

  2. Adults are some of the worst clients. I've worked with special needs kids, animals, other children and no one is worse than the adults in these kid's and pet's lives. They are delusional, they blame you for anything they can, they turn on a dime from nice to bananas the second they get any sort of feedback they don't like. So so so many people were not raised in a way that polite and constructive communication were important and it shows when they become adults. I can only hope the upcoming generations are better and better as adults as the rise in mental health awareness and healthy communication from childhood become more prevalent.

  3. I love your podcast! As an avid viewer of your vlogs and as a doggie mama of some 60 years, I found your stories of experiences with dogs and their owners so interesting. Iā€™m so appalled at the behaviour of some of the owners and lack of respect. No one should fail to have control of their dog especially when they expect you to have extremely close contact with them. How would they feel about having the same contact with someone elseā€™s vicious dog. I also believe that a dogā€™s temperament, size and physical ability should match the ownerā€™s ability. Iā€™ve owned dogs since the day I was born. Iā€™m now 67! Years ago Iā€™ve owned and trained Saints, GSDā€™s, collies, right down to the smallest a papillon. I now stick to Lhasaā€™s, Maltese, Cavaliers etc as they match my energy and physical ability. Please keep going with the podcast! I love the colleague youā€™re chatting with. Sheā€™s so nice to listen to. My 12 year old Lhasa Molly and I are so lucky as we have Bianca, a wonderful groomer right across the road from our apartment. We love Bianca and I trust her grooming ability so I just asked her to make Molly comfortable and pretty at her own discretion. And that is exactly what she does. Iā€™ve recommended her services to so many people in my building and they are all just as happy with Bianca as I am. Xxxā¤

  4. The other groomer wasn't unhappy about you laughing at her. The dogs anal glands exploded in her face, that made her unhappy, and then you laughed at her.

  5. The male client who stated you have no overhead due to the fact that you work out of your home is either a fool was making a feeble attempt to be con man.

  6. Groomers are all a bit different. Glands and ears. My vet asked me to not let groomers pluck the ears. Iā€™m listening to the playback of the ā€œKarenā€ā€¦ who acts like that? Unbelievable.

  7. I also tried mobile grooming. I lasted one day that was it. I knew then I was a brick and mortar groomer. I have a lot of respect for mobile groomers.
I love watching your videos. It brings me back to the good old days. I just retired a year ago. 40 years of grooming is very hard on your body. So all groomers out there. Please take care of your body. Thanks for the awesome videos.
I do want to add something about anal glands. I have a very bad overbite, and my mouth is usually open all the time. I was doing anal glands on a dog and it squirted right in my mouth. I went through a whole bottle of scope, and I still wasnā€™t happy. That was my worst Anal gland experience I had šŸ˜®

  9. So so sad how some people don't care for their pets the way they need. They think they do. Unfortunately my ma is much the same, she has had several pets over the years and I don't recall them ever going to the vets, even when her elderly terrier had miscarried and when she was in a fight with a badger (she allowed it to free roam unsupervised) and when all of her teeth were falling out. The dog eventually passed after being hit by a car. The same manner her self-proclaimed "soul mate" previous dog (my childhood dog…) had passed. She never learned her lesson. It was a fight with her to keep her current cat indoors as she lives by a busy road. Honestly…there needs to be an empathy test for pet owners.

  10. When you rent a concrete pumper you are obligated to give access to water. You just let them hook up a garden hose to your house so they can clean their equipment before the residual cement dries.
I don't see why a client isnt obligated to supply a mobile groomer with water? Especially on a large dog?

  11. Gizmo may have had Rocky Mountain spotted fever? I had a dog that contracted it and went from a super well behaved dog to an angry nightmare šŸ˜¢. Young dog, too.

  12. I also worked with the public for many years.
I found that people who are ineffective in their
lives, take it out on those of us who work
    with the public.
Weā€™re supposed just take it, customer is
    always right!! Not really!!šŸ˜‚
