Just started binging your channel. Have you ever watched dog-centered movies with your vet-mindset? Something like 'The Plaque Dogs', 'Marley & Me', the Air-Bud movies, 'Hachiko', etc?
The thing that alerted us to lymphoma in our last Golden was a seizure. Scariest thing I’ve ever seen. He flew backwards down a hallway, it was like something from The Exorcist. I pet my dog ALL the time and love them more than life itself .. I didn’t notice a single lymph node.
How should the owner manage the seizure? Stroke, talk, water cool the body, stand by but not touch? Friends dog has started seizing and she has had conflicting instructions from vets. Thanks.
Hello, About a month ago our dog (2 yr old male pug) was very lethargic and looking up in the air almost as if he was seeing something that wasn’t there. We took him to the vet thinking possibly seizures or something may come. ( Google paranoia)They said that possibly he may have gotten into something toxic, nuts or something. They decided not to do bloodwork. Sent him home with some medication. About a month and a half later the same situation, he’s looking up as if there’s something above him but there’s nothing there, his eyes are watery with boogers ( discharge) and lethargic. Still eating if you bring him food, but completely not himself. Going to make a vet appointment, does it sound like it may be a neurological issue? What should I request the vet do for a test so they don’t try to give me the run around with multiple tests and a lot of $$? Last time the vet decided not to do bloodwork, she said trying to save some money. But I was worried that it may have been a neurological issue, he is a two year male pug. Thank you
my roommate has epilepsy and has a seizure every once in a while
the seizires the dogs are experiencing here in the video appear to be identical to what he goes through, so im guessing the aftermath is the same, just sleeping it off for a few houres.
Wow scary seeing full blown Gran Mal seizures… Can you do a video about non typical signs of seizures or focal seizures? My Shiba Inu has been exhibiting fly biting behavior every couple of days, stares blankly at nothing it seems proceeding to do couple snaps in the air at nothing. I've been reading it up and our primary vet seems to agree that he could possibly be focal seizures. Physical exam, Blood work and urinalysis were normal. Would you recommend a neurologist referral (I probably don't live close to one) before trying an antiseizure med trial to see if the fly biting behavior stops? Looking forward to seeing more content!
We suspect my previous dog of having mild seizures every so often. We adopted him from a shelter and had no background on him, not even a correct age. It turned out he was older and had a spinal issue that, years later towards the end we had to get him on pain and inflammation meds.
My dog had a seizure a couple of months before we put her down, but I never saw it myself (alerted by a family member). I remember her just lying on the ground, unable to get up or move and it had to be one of the scariest things I have ever seen in my life. This video reminded me of that. Thanks for the informative video!
I love animals so much. This breaks my heart. Poor babies. I wanted to be a vet, but I can’t handle seeing animals Ill. They’re too precious to go through anything like that
This is very interesting! Im interested in neurology, I never got a chance to go to med school but I still like the subject a lot. Thanks for making this video!
Thats crazy i feel like thats an alternate version of Micheal x)) I always liked Dr Cellini's videos, and im absolutely interested in veterinary medecine so im really happy abt this channel, goodluck with whats coming next!! ♡
Awesome video, our rescued pup was diagnosed with epilepsy. We noticed him defecating in his bed, and oddly spinning in circles daily. Fortunately, he’s doing great after being put on medication!
He was rescued from a hoarding case, could it be possible that he developed this seizure disorder through trauma?
My 9 year old cattle dog has recently started to have seizures. They are non convulsive seizures Very distressing for her Taking her to the vet ASAP to see if anything can be done
Hi again! I was wondering if u could do a video on dogs and cancer. Our teddy bear toy poodle was dx with cancer of the jaw at 6 weeks old. She had a emergency surgery. The lesion was long. All the slices they did still were malignant. It was in jaw bone. They thought she may be left looking like she had a stroke as they had to remove part of jaw and reconstruct it. Did a awesome job! But how does a 6 week old get cancer in the first place Has 9 siblings. None have it. Sorry this is long should of said nothing.
As a certified veterinary technologist, I am VERY excited about this channel! We need more veterinary you tubers to bring light to how serious our jobs really are. I did an internship in a neurology department at a specialty hospital and it was for sure one of my favorite departments to be in. Subscribed 😌
I'm here because of your brother, on top of the fact that my sweet dog just came from the vet because he seem to have the catching flies syndrome.. I am so scared because he hit his head.
One of my Boxers just had a violent grand mal seizure last night. It’s hard to watch but it definitely confirmed it for me. Thank you.

Could you go into more of the science/treatment/diagnostic procedures and outcomes, perhaps in a similar way to chubby emu who does case reenactments?
