It’s been less than two months since the East Alton Village Board has passed an ordinance creating a cannabis ordinance allowing such businesses to operate in the village. The board last Tuesday modified some language in the ordinance that creates the zoning needed.
Mayor Darren Carlton tells The Big Z there are some well-traveled areas that could potentially host such a business.
Carlton says while there are no serious plans from potential businesses yet, there have been “a few nibbles.”
