  1. Finish the job. "Criminalization" still exists at the Federal level, particularly per the Department of Transportation. They say, "We want to assure the traveling public that out transportation system is the safest it can possibly be." Therefore, marujuana remains on the list "Schedule 1 of Controlled Substances Act" Controlled.

There is no reason to believe that marijuana is likely to be used on the job any more than alcohol among Federal worker's or those working in transportion who fall under Federal drug guidlines. There is also no reason to believe that marijuana would affect the driving abilities of these trusted and responsible employee's even after more than a few hours following recreational use. Especially when the "public" is trusted to endulge at any given time. The public uses our roadways and obviously has far less professional driver training or knowledge than someone who drives for a Transit. In any scenario, a car is far more likely to crash into a Transit vehicle, endangering it's passenger's than the other way around.

Black and Brown employees overwelmingly support our Transportation system. It might appear discriminatory that recreational use of marijuana remains a "criminal act" for those individuals, which is the case for the general public.

  2. Amazing it was ever illegal, a testament itself to racism and the failings of conservatism and underwhelming education. Harry Anslinger hurt hundreds of millions of people just to keep his cushy job.

  3. . Hey Guys. . .
. Just read a buncha the comments. I didn't see any from the MAGA minions! ! . 😯 . . (Could it be that a well spoken & obviously educated black man intimidates them?) 🤗

  4. You did it in reverse.
B4 the 'rollout' you should add these to the legalization legislation.
You wanted to get that money rolling and get wt boys the necessary advantages cistomized just for them.

  6. From 2020-2022, the House/Senate & Presidency were fully controlled by Democrats. They failed to pass federal legalization of Marijuana as well as many other things that are talking points for this election cycle. They had the power to change everything & anything they wanted & still chose to do nothing.

  7. Wonderful move in the right direction economically and personal freedoms Congratulation a to I think it is Maryland he represents east coast rocking forward not backwards drag the rest of the country behind you

  8. GOOD!! They didn’t need to be in the criminal Justice system just for a plant 🪴that has health benefits!! Lock up the pharmaceutical industry instead!! They poison ☠️ us!!

  9. This is really good news..When you consider the fact that the USA makes up for 4% of the world population, but accounts for 25% of all worlds prisoners.. you know something is off.

  10. Yeah that's fair. If something is rightfully made legal, then anyone affected by it when it was illegal should have their slate clean. Otherwise its cheap noise and unfair.

    So good job.

  11. I am glad someone is trying to keep the check and balances. But does the pardon also strike their offenses from their records? Because just getting out of jail doesn’t mean that they won’t get criminalized in the real world when looking for employment etc..

  12. California is making a lot of money taxing legal recreational marijuana.
And the number of inmates in California State prisons has dropped by at least 50,000 inmates. 💥💰💥
