  1. Hey Anna,
I just watched your video, and I want to thank you because I can relate to your experiences. I grew up in France, where alcohol is deeply ingrained in the culture, and I used to work in restaurants and bars, so it was a massive part of my life. I’ve almost entirely given up alcohol now, and it has been quite a positive change for me. Even though I enjoy a glass of wine occasionally, I am much happier and healthier after reducing my alcohol consumption. I’ve realized how much it has impacted my outlook on life. The challenge in today’s society is that alcohol is so integrated into every aspect of socializing. Whether it’s good news, bad news, or simply finishing work and meeting colleagues, there always seems to be an excuse to drink. I agree that it can be challenging to quit and to be social without drinking. Still, it has become easier as society has shifted its focus towards health and alternative ways of enjoying social gatherings, such as natural products like mushrooms and cannabis, etc… Having lived in America for the past 10 years, I’ve experienced the benefits and drawbacks of consuming THC. I agree that it’s not for everyone and that there are pros and cons. As a 40-year-old who has gone through different stages with alcohol and cannabis, I have found my comfort in smoking. With time, saying no to a drink and sticking to that decision has become more accessible. After a few months, it started feeling natural, and now, after a few years, it’s completely normal. Changing one’s behavior over time is gradual, but it’s immensely beneficial, and I’m really grateful for that. Once again, thank you for your channel that guides and motivates people to address the fundamental aspects of discussing products and personal experiences.
Stay happy, stay sober, and have a great day.

  2. Today is 62 days. Prior to that. I was only drinking for special occasions. Drinking is so socially normally. It shouldn't be. Everything revolves around alcohol in public settings. 😢

  5. The social part of this is so interesting to me and so pervasive. I’m almost 40 and STILL in social situations it can still get weird. We have friends who are parents of our kid’s friends and often times they’re the MOST pushy about just have one drink or full on just grabbing a drink and handing it to me. I will say I do still have the occasional drink. I love a margarita on a patio with some chips and salsa a few times a year, but that is an intentional choice. I’m not drinking out of habit anymore and that was a game changer for me.

  6. Watched this while trimming my homegrow. We had a proverb in college "drinking alcohol is borrowing happiness from the next day", I still think this is a good way to put it.

Thanks for your videos, I enjoy watching them. I'm also still thinking about your s*x life video about the part where weed allows you to re-experience things in a new fashion. As a psychologist and soon to be psychotherapist that made me think about possible trauma related use. So now I'm wondering if you could utilize it during therapy, not that that would be legal – but who knows what future cannabis laws bring.

  7. If someone wants to kick alcohol in steps rather than cold turkey, the first step is to stop having drinks by themselves. ONLY with food that they pair with, and only one gulp per chomp. This method obviates drunkenness, because you get bloated first. Once you’ve achieved this step, it should be easy to gradually substitute non-alcoholic drinks until you’ve reached the finish line.

  9. thank you for your insight on healthy living which is very important for us all please keep on helping us so that we can stay healthy in are understanding on how to enjoy life with broccoli 😊

  10. Great video!

I had my Last drink 2008. I don’t miss it at all.

I’m California Sober and it has changed my life in such a positive way.

I’ve said it before but cannabis has helped me the best version of myself.

    Keep on keeping on 🙏

  11. Really enjoyed the video l can’t drink because of alcoholism issues but l find cannabis beneficial for dealing with PTSD and anxiety but it has to be taken mindfully and not just to party.

  12. I spent 18 years in the liquor business. I’m pretty sure my liver is pickled at this point. When I changed careers about 9 years ago, I just stopped naturally. We decided to start having children, and the last thing I wanted to be while helping with our kids at 3am was hungover.

Stopping wasn’t really that hard since all those social and professional pressures disappeared when I left the industry. Since it was my family’s business, it did make family get-togethers awkward. Looking back though, I can also see how much my general anxiety also played a factor, which was only ever really made worse by the drinking.

Nowadays, I consume cannabis as part of a more balanced routine that involves journaling and regular mindfulness practice. It also makes me a calmer, more grounded, and present parent. My mental health is much better today than it used to be, even with all the chaos my little ones sow 🤣.

It still gets under my skin a little when people give you a look because you said no thanks to happy hour, and then doubly annoying when they pearl clutch if I mention I prefer cannabis. I do have a few friends that have made the alcohol/cannabis switch too though, and they’re super happy they did. I wish more people were open to it. We’ll get there eventually, I think.

  13. Congrats on 4 years! I quit drinking at the beginning of this year, but slipped up more recently when I moved to a place where "broccoli" is illegal. 🙁 It's only temporary, so will be moving back to a place where broccoli is legal… I use it for medical purposes since i have chronic pain, and it really helps a lot. I miss it. I do occasionally detox if I feel like it is too much. Anyhow, going to try and quit drinking again, it's not worth it. I hate the bloated feeling after drinking. Thought about quitting caffeine too. I'm fine with every once in a while edibles to help me sleep & relieve pain, or smoking greens w/ a dry herb vape occasionally.

  14. One of my hopes for Cannabis legalization was that it meant fewer people drinking alcohol. I don't know if that actually happened, but either way it's good that a safer alternative was made legal.
