Victoria Yards is an innovative urban renewal project located on the edge of the inner city, transforming abandoned warehouses into a vibrant mixed-use lifestyle complex. This project supports the local community through three on-site non-profits and an urban farming initiative. Visitors, both locals and tourists, can explore around 50 artists’ workshops, decor showrooms, galleries, and fashion outlets nestled within its brick buildings. Sustainability is at the heart of Victoria Yards, with tenants creating designer bags from colorful shweshwe fabric and plastic waste, homeware from recycled industrial parts, upcycled clothing, and a sorbet stand that uses overripe, unsold fruit from local street vendors to make frozen treats.
For those feeling peckish, there’s an old-school “tuck shop,” a coffee roastery, and a bakery, all situated alongside a small-batch gin distillery, a bar, and a traditional walk-in fish and chip shop with wooden benches in the courtyard. Open seven days a week, Victoria Yards also hosts the First Sunday Market on the first Sunday of each month from 10 am to 4 pm, featuring additional vendors selling collectibles, antiques, handmade African curios, and various food and drinks. Free undercover parking is available, along with overflow on-street parking monitored by parking guards, ensuring a safe visit for everyone.
South Africa needs to relearn to like nice things. No more litter, no more peeing in public. More taking care of our spaces/environment and taking care of ourselves. This channel is showing the few people that are doing that. It's beautiful to see.

Just a suggestion Brian. How about converting a section of Victoria Yards into residential units??? So much architectural beauty.
Another South African hero! Thank you once again, David and team, for showcasing our greatness.

This area used to be clean and safe. I grew up there and my parents still reside close to Victoria Yard. Im glad someone wants to clean the area.
