It’s truly lovely to see your journey (literally and emotionally) and whilst you see each other every day, I only see you once each week and this week’s is profoundly different IMHO. I hope I’m not overstepping here… acceptance (of grief) does not, as previously thought, occur in chronological stages or steps. Yes there are stages but in the journey, we might have one step forward, two back, four forward, one back and all we can do is go with it… It’s ok to feel happy and to laugh and with that, at the most unexpected moments, grief might come crashing in, like a fkn tsunami. It’s part of our journey and in my experience, we don’t “get over” losing somebody we love but instead, it becomes a part of us and we live with the loss and carry them with us in our journey. I feel such admiration for you both having the conviction and commitment to keep your amazing channel going and to share your journey with us. Sending the warmest hugs.
Seeing UK summer weather again, reaffirms my decisions and whilst I holiday in Catalunya, I look forward to heading south to Andalusia again in a month or so.
Sadly, 14 years of budget cuts and austerity have resulted in local councils being savagely starved of funds and whilst I don’t necessarily agree with their obsession with screwing us for every last penny (e.g. parking), I understand their need. Before Shropshire, I lived in Sussex and it was normal to apply for and pay to park in front of your own home! Utterly absurd…
Stay happy, keep the channel authentic and best wishes.
Thank you for your inspiration. We are at a site in Wells next the Sea now, as I saw the vlog on Thursday and booked straight away. Love the drone photography, and of course the doggies.
Norfolk is lovely my Nan was born and bought up there with her 10 brothers and sisters and so we as a family spent a lot of time there when I was young however not sure I have every been to Holt so I just said to hubbie we should check it out sometime. Have a wonderful week and look forward to next weeks vlog ❤x
Very interesting video. You are right about the supermarkets Sarah, but you can't always get what you want, especially, when you are doing D.I.Y. everything is so expensive, tripled in price. We find it cheaper to go abroad on holiday in our camper van, how bizarre is that? Still loving your Adventures. 😊
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy watching your blog. I never miss it. Frequently I’ll wait to watch it on a Saturday or Sunday where I can truly just unwind and watch the story unfold! 😊
I'm english and soooo ashamed of the way motorhome tourists are treated in the uk. Any country welcomes us and our wallets but in the uk my money is welcome but my touring transport is not at all welcome. And please don't say we leave a mess because it's just not true in 99 % of cases people make mess not vans. People travel in all sorts of ways train car coach bicycle but only motorhomes think to bring a bin and loo with them and I and 99% of tourists have been brought up to respect our surroundings. So why am I punished for the lousy 1% s crimes??? I could rant on but I guess you guys feel the same
You cannot be serious about the supermarkets in the uk being better. We’ve lived in Spain doing vanlife for a couple months now and the food here is soooooooomuch better than the uk which has foul dull yuck unhealthy food. And the uk has miserable weather, promotes the alcoholic/pub culture and of course nosy busy bodies who are all in your business when you’re a vanlifer. Can’t stand it in the uk. The language makes it much easier, yes. But nothing else appeals anymore.
Hi Guyz, great to see your enjoying Norfolk. If you are still in area and would like to spend some time in a chocolate box village, please drop me a pm. You are welcome to spend a night on our driveway. We live in Great Massingham. Take care.
I visited the Norfolk area in june with a friend. Lovely to see the sites again. There is a lovely circular walk from wells next the sea and along Holkham beach such a shame you couldn’t park there. Enjoy your time in Norfolk.
That’s the conundrum isn’t it, you described it very well. We have the sunshine and a more relaxed lifestyle in many ways. Less people, cheap wine and tapas. I too miss the English supermarkets, the fab shops, the ease with which you can get anything. The people and especially the old pubs. There is definitely a price to pay for living in the sunshine. I don’t think I’d survive the rain and the cold and the dark after so many years in Andalucia and now in Gib. But sometimes I’m really tempted to try it back in England.
YOURE RIGHT, there ARE a lot more van lifers in the UK than spain….because so many people are now having to live in their vans and caravans….you're better off living in spain…..❤
