Duncan I love your show and I’ve listened through almost all of it after watching the midnight Gospel. I appreciate how you’ve changed your opinion on AI however it is still kind of cringe, sir. even if it is your own art being put into an algorithm it’s still using other artists information to change things about it.
Not to mention that the amount of energy and water ai consumes on a prompt by prompt basis is not sustainable going forward. Unless we have cold fusion coming up in the next year I don’t see why we need AI when it is going to accelerate our climate change path.
One image on mid journey takes as much power as it does to charge half of your iPhone one chat EBT for prompt of about 100 words is equivalent of using one water bottle. I would try and research this yourself. I may be wrong, but there is reason for people to not want AI in everything. also, you are one of the most creative people I’ve come across and I know you can learn how to animate you got it in you. You don’t need a computer to do it for you.

I loved this episode and you, D Trusell, but i think you may have missed the point of art. If receiving external validation for your art is your goal, you are into a rough ol ride. Making art is not about showing it, but making it. If you make stuff for others, that is handy craft or something. Sometimes they can overlap but it is very rare. Make art and keep on making it, the minute you care more about the critique then your own intrinsic accomplishment you are lost.
I do t want to be a Debbie downer. But most of not 98 percent of this occult is holding humanity back not pushing it forward. More than once these occult members patent hide and subvert progress. The ai we have is weak in the deepest form of the word. Due to these weak greedy secretive programmers. The main progress ai has made is due to the masses. Same with every useful invention. The masses get their hands and minds on it. It becomes something more and something useful for all but few. Ai is the same. Until the masses are allowed take part in the occult.
