I live in Boston (400m away fro Bellville Central) – (not sure if I can say who I work for – but it's important and I might get fired for speaking out): Bellville is a Slum. I feel like a foreigner in my own country when I walk there. The City have relocated shelters to our neighbourhood – and this increased crime, drug users, break-ins , violence and robberies. When the community brought up these matters with the City – I was told that there is nothing we can do: The City has already decided. Our streets are dirty, behind my fence has become a shitting area, I pick up discarded syringes daily, I have ladies-of-the-night walking in broad-daylight past my home – Bellville is a dump… A far cry from when I moved here 23 years ago. Need proof: Go to Google Street Maps. Check older photos and compare it to today. The City doesn't give a hoot.
There was no mention of the reality of foreign cartels and drug peddling? How will this restructure work in relation to all the illegal immigrants and home affairs issues. Your problem in Bellville & Parow is way bigger than you think. It has become a haven and showroom for drugs, crime and prostitution 😢
A proper clean up of Voortrekker Road from central Cape Town cbd through to Stikland should be undertaken. When I grew up; Maitland, Goodwood, Vasco, Parow, Brooklyn, Rugby… we're predominantly "white" areas. Nowadays I think if you find a "white" in those & surrounds; you can sms to 36078 to stand a chance to win a car
What about all the foreigners 😂😂😂😂? There's a Somali town. Nigerian Town. All the towns . Yet we speaking about transport and road extentions . First sort out the illegal aliens
Come to Belville and CY. Great idea to take back the decay. Ensure Law Enforcement cleans up first and enforce bylaws and create safety for business owners and the public.
good that they turning mini Mogadishu and Lagos back into a nice clean cape Town area, same way their is plans to take Hillbrow back into a South African city.

Oh nothing will happen apart from bellville getting worse, although it's pretty much at rock bottom already
Good to see in Cape Town the debate and thinking is about growth and positive things…. While in Tshwane and JoBerg it’s a 💩 show

Gonna be a mission and a half.
Too much crime like drug dealing, prostitution and illegal immigrants and shops operating in Bellville… Big job ahead.

Excellent move, well done cape town..
I believe Canal Walk is.
Traffic in Bellville is already not great. The elephant in the room is the Cape train network run by PRASA.
Walked around there recently, its already like a big city , structures are there, road are wide, clean up can be fast.

It will certainly revitalize Bellville, cleaun up the shithole it has become and move the attention away from CT CBD that has limited expansion.
They’ve are going to have to relocate the gangsters, ISIS money launderers and Somalians first.
