  1. Well been running for a little over 5 months. and that's every day since then and im not a runner and after taking a gummy and running the other day it was wild like first hand experience at least for me it locked me into a groove or zone and yea on that part it helped but the pacing with breathing and what you focus on still has to be there while doing it though (to me at least)

  2. This was an awesome review! I have been using CMDmd capsules for over a year now, while not an athlete I do have work that requires physical exertion. I am not anti-pharma but I do prefer this as my first line of defense against pain and inflammation- and more often than not its successful. BUT MOSTLY CMDmd has relieved my anxiety symptoms like no other. I have tried various anti-anxiety medications and these capsules have blown me away in how effective they are. HIGHLY recommend this brand specifically.

  3. 46 y.o. here, been an athlete for over 33 years. I was using cbd oil for some time (about a 6 months as I recall). Small doses. It helped me with GAD and depression quite a bit (to the extent I could scale down my SSRI meds).
However, I didn't notice any pain relief effects aftery workouts (gym, running and cycling). On the plus side was that my hrv was not plummeting down after set of hard endurance workouts.
CBD is great for nervous system when used in proper doses and should not induce any kind of grogginess. And if it does, as my doctor claims, one should take smaller doses.
Also, you can get accustomed to the CBD easily and the effect will loose its 'momentum' 😉 it will happen sooner or later 🙁

  4. Sir, not being an MD or a scientist a would not claim that other "painkillers" don't reduce inflammation but only affect a brain especially if there are tons of research on this topic. Whereas there are not so many long term or just any kind of CBD studies.

  5. Yikes, 200mg is a big dose. I use Charlottes web CBD oil and they recommend a range of 1 to 6 mg per 10 lbs of body weight. I've settled on a middle of the range dose (3mg per 10lbs) so for myself, at 150lbs, that means a 45mg dose, which I take just before bed. Even if I was to go with the upper end of their recommendation I'd be on 90mg, which is still way less than 200mg.

I ride my bicycle around 200miles per week and find that CBD helps with reducing inflammation, and promotes good sleep.

  6. That is a lot of money to wake up feeling groggy after a long sleep 😳 For a pro athlete I can see the usefulness of being able to push through those stress signals our body sends out when being 'abused' but for the rest of us I personally think that it is unsafe to approach little niggles, aches and pains, and other signs of having pushed too far with something that potentially numbs the warning signals. You could end up turning a little injury into a huge injury, and for me that would certainly not be worth it. As for sore knees there are a multitude of really good exercises to strengthen the little muscles that aligns your knee joint, and others to strengthen the supportive muscles, and strengthening these is virtually risk free and does make a huge difference.

  7. I wouldn't do this right before an event where your performance matters, but it'd be interesting to do another experiment with you blindfolded, and your partner applying the CBD cream to one knee, and another CBD-free histamine dihydrochloride cream to the other, keeping them on the same knee for a week or two, then switching knees for another week or two, without your partner telling which knee got it until the end and taking notes every day

  8. The creams “active ingredient “ is histamine dihydrochloride. The hemp extract is way, WAY down the list of ingredients. Might suggest you try one of the many topical histamine dihydrochloride creams that are available much cheaper than what your presenting. That being said, no shade to any placebo effect. It’s real and if it helps (without hurting, financial or otherwise) then enjoy.

  9. Great content, very interesting this CBD … I know u said u did not like it in HS when you tried THC, however, I do find it very pleasant and much easier running with some THC in my system… did take some time and practicing to get very good at running with THC… lol

Ps. Live in Colorado, therefore is completely legal here…

    Have an excellent day!

  10. 200mg is quite a big dose. I use 10 to 20 and that is by far enough to get the benefits without the grogginess. I did find that my body gets used to this if you take it daily for a longer time (a couple of months) and it seems to have some adverse effects like my HRV getting really out of wack and my recovery times getting longer. And I don’t seem to get the same relief from it as when I started. Also I do experience some grogginess even during the day when using it for longer stretches. But now I’m using it as needed. After a heavy strength training, around an event or in a big trainingweek running and cycling. That really seems to work for me.

  11. CBD is great. I haven' tried the topicals though. IN my experience the CBD oil I take in the morning helps with my anxiety and the night time CBD powder I put in some water knocks me out. I haven't experienced any grogginess from the night time powder I take. No more than the normal amount that just lasts until I chug some water.

  12. I tried CBD. I think of it like "snake oil", snake oil salesman.
    Does absolutely nothing for me.
Now if I smoke some weed, that helps a lot.
I have rheumatoid arthritis. So smoking weed helps my joints and inflammation big-time.
The only problem is I can't continue to workout while smoking weed. So goodbye cardio and Maybe a few gym workouts a week if lucky.
So weed isn't my answer also. 😢

I feel way better just working out normal and keeping my cardio up. I'll just deal with pain and recovery.

  13. I thought your video was terrific. I'm not a distance runner, as you are, but I am a swimmer and follow your videos to learn about a variety of topics related to your running enthusiasm and that keep me informed. I find your content as being straight-forward, practical and unbiased. Thanks. I've been interested in learning more about CBD and your video was spot on for my questions. Do you find that you become reliant on taking the supplement to either fall asleep at night or stay asleep? Another unrelated question is whether you have done, or may do, a video on supplements such as whey and creatine, not for aesthetics, but in order to get sufficient protein to meet daily requirements and support fairly regular swim/run, etc. workouts? Thanks again for what you provide.

  14. That was a great, even handed review. I agree these do work, but the high price and morning grogginess were deal breakers for me. But I would consider the cost an investment if I needed to deal with inflammation issues. Thx Dave.

  15. …I ll probably try the sleep sups for couple of days in the week (exactly due to the morning tiredness not every days) cause I desperately need to increase sleep time and quality a bit… But I rarely do overlength sports and thus dont usually get any such overstrain pains so probably local cremes are rather uninteresting…

  16. Interesting video. I would be interested to try CBD products but I’m career military so unfortunately those products are strictly prohibited. I am team ibuprofen (sparingly) and menthol (biofreeze, icy hot). I’m always in some state of soreness and would like to try some other methods.

  17. Notice how most elite ultra runners are Europeans and never touch this CBD garbage. This stuff is for people who don’t want to put in the work, can’t dig in deep into the pain cave yet want to reap some gain.
