So it’s what I thought. WEED DOES NOT CAUSE SPINA BIFIDA!!!! Piece of 💩 woman 👩 back in 90’s BLAMED a pothead buddy of mine for that. Like…. He a piece 💩 now drunk. 😮 I hung out in the gutter!
Don’t listen to these bullshyt artists, there are no negative effects. We have been using it for years to relieve pain and nausea as an indigenous woman, we already know the deal. Zoloft and other prescription drugs actually DO cause birth defects, miscarriages, and still birth ect because it is made of literal POSION. Eat organic, and try to move to a state that cannabis is legalized, I was given prescription drugs ect and admitted to the hospital because I couldn’t even keep water down. It’s the ONLY cure for HG. This is a bunch of bull and this guy wants to seem smart and get you on them piiiilllllssss 💊 girls !!!
The problem with marijuana with children and infants outside the womb is that it slows brain development. It wouldn’t be surprising finding out its not safe during pregnancy, especially when its going into the unborn baby’s system. Of course not every pregnancy will experience negative outcomes and that just as well happens to women drinking alcohol while pregnant. It increases risks that can be life long abnormalities your child will have to face. There is a part of reality most of these commenting have to face in which you have an addiction.
I already knew what stance you took by the first 30 seconds of this video. If this was really an OPEN discussion and we were going to get REAL answers then your format would have been different. I'm tired of these same spiels being broadcasted with no real insight coming to light. I am looking for REAL answers and I know I can help if your really interested in burying the past and moving forward. I ask questions, I care about my baby, I am very intelligent. I would like to be a part or your study if this is something your serious about
2 of my friends have been smoking weed during their pregnancy. They both have kids and they are the coolest and smartest kids I know. I'm not saying Marijuana made them this way but it looks like it!
I'm 38 at 35 wks. Been using cannabis the whole time. I only vape now, but was ingesting edibles in the 1st trimester. My baby hits all his growth milestones properly.
I looked into the research and found it to be lacking in validity. We have cannabis receptors all over our body, so what's taken in is taken up. By us.
I don't honestly see how it can directly effect the fetus when so many other factors can result in the same abnormalities. #witchhunt
I'm a somewhat frequent user, and I hate how defensive people get when research is done. We should be happier getting to the truth rather than being upset that what we thought wasn't true
I can say with absolute confidence that conceiving and giving birth in a country that offers the most minuscule bare bones social safety net for new parents and allows religious fascists control over the healthcare of pregnant people is EXPONENTIALLY more dangerous for infants then marijuana use during pregnancy and it's almost cute to be concerned with such a thing when the average labor and delivery costs over 30k and at best a new parent can get from their employer is 12wks off unpaid. But hey, at least we have the biggest military in the world so it's not like we could leave a country after spending 10s of billions of dollars for 21yrs only for our opponents to immediately come in and reclaim everything only a few weeks later……🙄
There aren't really any "free" intoxicants, some just tear your body up less than others. Some people will freak out over things like caffeine and pregnancy. Are the exposure to stress hormones safer, the same, or worse than cutting down to a cup or two a day?
More data needs to be gathered and studied. Right now it's just anecdotal evidence on both sides. Remember the drug education films in school that said that smoking pot kills brain cells, turns you gay, makes you grow man-boobs, ect, those same people are still around now. Now you have the pot cures everything crowd. Let's get some evidence, even if it's nothing more than the equivalent of having a beer after work (helps you unstress, lower BP, ect).
I really appreciate the summary of the data, but why aren't we discussing the real issue?
People lie. They know it's not good, or at least overwhelming likely to note be good, but are that dependent on the drug that objectivity is impossible.
I microdoss every night before bed but once I get pregnant sadly I will be stopping. I hope I'm able to sleep and have less pain still but sadly it was the best thing I had. I do not like taking meds.
I'd love to see if CBD only is ok. I'm sure there's something out there but haven't seen it yet for CBD and pregnancy. That's gonna be the next video I look up. If I can't have my medical marijuana then ill see if CBD will be helpful.
I am not going to draw my own conclusion without looking into these studies myself, but anecdotally I have several friends that used low dose tinctures to help with their morning sickness in the first couple months of pregancy and their kids are all healthy. I have a feeling the times that people would report marijuana use in pregnancy might be because their child has some kind of condition that they are worried was caused by marijuana. I kinda doubt many moms report when they use it and their kid turns out fine… like, why would they? Especially since in many places in the US it is still VERY illegal and could get your child taken from you. But again, I am sure there are times where extreme cannabis abuse was happening and it could've harmed the fetus. I just haven't personally heard of it and live in an area where marijuana is not only legal but very socially accepted and I know no one who has had this issue, thank goodness.
If I had to guess, I would say the medical field is probably in the same position as alcohol during pregnancy. Something like an occasional glass of wine during pregnancy has little to no effect on fetal development, but FAS is so serious that all medical professionals will say abstain entirely. It's better to hedge your bets when it comes to these things
Given Marijuana affects the brain and is demonstrably bad for a developing child's brain, it only makes sense that it's also going to be bad for a fetus. So it's just in the best interest of the developing fetus to quit any non necessary medication and drug use while pregnant. Marijuana may be a safer drug to use, but it's not 100% safe and it's something people need to realize and adjust their use depending on the situation.
One option for a study is recruit people who use marijuana who are pregnant, and then randomize them into two groups. In one group, do nothing. In the other, ask them to stop marijuana use. After all, the "treatment" we would in fact provide in the future, if we have convincing evidence of negative effects, is to ask women stop use while pregnant, so the experiment treatment would in fact match the eventual practice.
The comments are a predictable shitshow but I'm really just grateful that after all these decades we're able to have these conversations instead of blanket suppression or blanket denial of adverse effects.
I highly doubt smoking it is a good idea. I might be wrong, but to me, Marijuana is basically tobacco+. Surely it's not a great idea. Just like how tobacco is bad for babies. For my part, I currently don't see myself smoking tobacco ever because of the risks of cancer and lung disease. I have heard anecdotes that say it tastes foul too. I'm already addicted to caffeine. I don't need another addiction.
mom smoked like a chimney with me. cigs and weed. im 27 and still don’t have a job and have the most severe depression and adhd. im very intelligent but i hate myself. f*ck my mom and her abuse
Ultimately, if it hasn't been PROVEN to be safe, then don't do it. It's your baby. Grow tf up
Huh so is can be bad but its not so bad that a syndrom has developed and been studied like featal alcohol syndrome. Yeah still probably dont do that.
So it’s what I thought. WEED DOES NOT CAUSE SPINA BIFIDA!!!!
Piece of 💩 woman 👩 back in 90’s BLAMED a pothead buddy of mine for that.

I had to stop bc i had a panic attack! It was horrible!!! Scarred me!

I have a real issue with this. I can answer so many questions and solve so many "issues?" Please ask me! I really need help with this.
The data says weed has no side effects except being hungry and tired period
Not the “WE’D appreciate it” at the end 😅
Pay attention to effect sizes. As you always say…

No
"weed appreciate it." LOL

What substance is safe during pregnancy? Is oxygen? 🤔

I wouldn't take a chance on it . . .
Dude, I'll make it easier for you. Let's rephrase it a different way.
"Does inhaling smoke, thus reducing your oxygen intake, have the potential to cause harm to a fetus in utero."
The answer is FUCKING DUH. This is a no-brainer. Stay off the reefer while you've got a baby in you.
Surely the biggest risk is the kids end up terminally boring, like their stoner parents?

Doesn’t THC have an impact on neural development? I remember hearing something about myelination being inhibited by THC.
Cannabis. Not marijuana. That’s the term from the prohibition

Misguided and under-researched video.
Compared to what?
Came for the research, stayed for the pun at the end.
