I am a cancer patient. I am also a diabetic. The large amount of pain medicine makes me sick to my stomach. Also, some of my other medicines makes my sugar drop to really low levels. The marijuana settles my stomach, they do have a shot for this…at the hospital, kicks in my desire to eat(munchies) and actually takes my mind off my troubles for a bit. Its kind of fun giggling every now and then even at 67 years old. And I manage to spend a little time out in the garage. To that extent, I believe the marijuana totally helps with both issues as well as so many others. For me, its awesome but it may not be for you, just like any other medicine. For now I am chill, I had a nice meal(as well as a few munchies). I'm not shaking from my sugar being too low, and my mouth runs on and on lol
I know for sure it helps – my wife was a brittle diabetic who was taking both fast acting and long acting insulin. We kept detailed records of her sugars [we tested 4 times daily] and the amount of insulin she was using. We started using cannabis to treat her for chronic pain and inflammation from other illnesses she had and to our surprise she had an immediate and significant drop in her sugars which we had not expected. To make a long story short, at first we didn't have the cash set aside to always have the cannabis, when she did not have it, her sugars went back to the levels we were used to, when she did have it, her sugars dropped. Once we budgeted for a regular use of cannabis, her insulin use dropped by nearly 1/3rd what she had needed and her sugars were more stable than they had been before.
been smoking pot now for over 50 years, started when I was in the army. I was invited to the party over in Vietnam. It helps with PTSD and the other things that now don't work from being ate up from the inside out. I have never had any of anything you just talked about, I am a T2 have been now for about 10 to 15 years. I am now just 71 my a1c in july was 6.3
You should have also stated that there are different varieties of marijuana, Indica and Sativa are the 2 main ones. Then there are some plants that have varying levels of THC. This partially explains why so many different effects for different people.
I've been smoking MJ Since 1976 off/on on a limited basis for pain because aspirin and prescription drugs effect my stomach and digestive tract. It helps with my sleep apnea and relaxes my back and hip pain to a tolerable level. The only drawback i have found is it's negative effect on my diet plan.
Because I have Hashimotoi's Disease as well as T2 Diabetes and HBP, I sometimes will have 1/2 or 1/4 of a Mood Gummy to help me sleep as these gummies contain Melatoinin and the Hashi's and T2 I have do cause insomnia. Great video Dr. Ergin. Thank you! God Bless.
There are different types and potencies of cannabis. Ask around and do research first! Variabilities include: age, weight, sex, tolerance, health and how often one uses it and if you have had anything to eat before you imbibe! also the "munchies" arise from dehydration- another of it's myriad 😒side effects. Drink water and eat so that they will be lessened or non existent! Medication is dosed out in measured amounts like grams or milligrams but "bud" or "flower" in the smoking form in joints or a pipe is not. It's easy to do more than required or expected, if that happens and you get heart-flutters or panic attacks (common with sativa) then drink plenty of liquids. Caffeinated drinks will flush you out faster due to it being a diuretic. Remember how much and what kind you did so as to not repeat it again until you find the correct amount for you. You have to understand though that names and strains change with each store or dispensary that you go to and sometimes they are carelessly mislabeled. I have been imbibing for almost 47 years so I think that I know the basics by now!😉
One side effect of the THC in cannabis is that it will cause blood sugar to drop…no plummet. I have hypoglycemia and if I don't eat some type of protein, I will see stars, get faint, get sick and pass out. I have to eat before i imbibe!

Wow I never new about pot.
Don't use cannabis numbnuts, use Marijuana. Cannabis is a closer cousin to Hemp. Both Cannabis and Hemp are poisonous. Smoke Marijuana…
There are NO marijuana smokers that call it “flower”!
