  2. Back in the days they would use pond or dew retting to help separate the fiber and the rest of the stalk, then put it through a breaker bench and comb it out by hand. Good you got machinery to do that job.

  3. What makes them say that soil microbial life drops off when the plant goes to into reproductive phase? It doesn't stop making exudates or needing the relationship with the microbes.
