  1. In the hospital now with grandson for seizures migraines they have done ct scans MRI spinal tap nothing come of it
He is not responding to normal meds or things they have seen before. Will try to get him on Keto he has a bad diet
If he could see himself have a seizure it would convince him

  2. I had 1-2 seizures about every 3 weeks for the last 20 years. I'm doing keto now with MCT oil. I haven't had a seizure for 103 days. Before that I went 73 days and before that 60. So it's been almost 8 months with only 2 seizures. That's an exciting change for me! I've continued making improvements as I went. The MCT oil alone started the change. I feel really hopeful that this seizure-free time will keep going and going. I am 42 years old and I had partial seizures in childhood but I was never diagnosed.

  3. I’m taking nutritional yeast, cod liver oil, vitamin b1 daily but I also take vitamin d3 and k2, and zinc daily. I still had the symptoms of a seizure happening this morning so Midazolam 5 MG/0.1ML Solutionin was sprayed in my nostril. Is that normal? Thank you doctor!

  4. ❤❤❤I have seizures since I was 14( now I'm almost 28). I was given different meds at the beginning. Because of these I had many mental and physical problems. I decided to quit them. I didn't know what was wrong but I felt the need to stop taking them. I did, but I had a seizure on the excursion and freaked out everyone in the class😢. By the way, my mom told me from the beginning not to tell anyone about my seizures. From the excursion it was obvious that my safety and other people were more important than anyone not knowing what's really going on. I had many problems in life afterwards, I left home, I wanted to leave this life and mother behind me. But I was still taking medication from time to time, not knowing how much I needed it. 2 years ago I gave birth to my son, perfectly healthy child. I needed to take drugs for his safety, but I took half a dose, and I had only one deizure during pregnancy. After giving birth, I cut the dose to 1/4 of the dose I was supposed to take during pregnancy. I'm having seizures once a month now. I'm not fully on keto, but I make sure to take in all needed supplements, soon to start with CBD oil. Wish me luck! And I wish luck to everyone fighting or having someone close fighting epilepsy ❤🧬

  5. From Western Australia, 🇦🇺 I’ve followed you for 1 year now and lost 20 kilos and my Catamenial Epilepsy has been less frequent and has improved in many ways , however I’m closer to menopause and I have a feeling that the hormones will increase the seizures again. How and what should I change in my diet to prevent any further seizures which could become more frequent with the decrease in hormones and entering Menopause ???? Any suggestions will be great thanks xx ❤

  6. Diagnosed at 8yo with epilepsy. Had a temporal lobectomy at 22yo went seizure free 19yrs til head injury in 2013, now suffer dycristic seizures. Anticonvulsant medication used for these episodes.

  7. I have been suffering with elicpse with 43 yearls now and i hate it cause it prevents me from working and i don't have that access to the salad u say cause i am writing for st lucia

  8. My neurologist never told me about ketogenic diet and he was one of the best. It took several years to get them under control. I don't know that I would trust a diet.

  9. I have generalized grand mal epilepsy. For those with this kind of epilepsy it is genetic and the only way to soothe the seizures is to eat healthy, not drink alcohol, sleep well, and avoid stress as much as possible.

  10. Is this still applicable to Temporal Lobe Epilepsy? i don't have full seizures, just de ja vu auras that make me throw up and sweat and a hot cold fever.

  11. I was seizure free nearly for a year doing keto only, no meds. I quit keto and everything went down hill, tried doing keto again multiple times. Always get constipated and have acid reflux. Im back on meds and have been seizure free for a little over a year now doing low carb. Idk if keto will ever work for me, I dont think I had acid reflux last year when I was doing it.. just recently ive been noticing it. My doctors absolute hate the idea of me doing keto and low carb, that its last resort only. Despite the fact that seizures have ruined my life and Im in need of last resort options..

  12. I am B6 toxic from taking Tegretol (anti-seizure med). I experience “Lhermettes” spinal shock symptoms due to a spinal cord injury and Tegretol stops the seizure -like activity but with so many side effects. I’m hoping the healthy keto diet can help me so I can come off this horrific medication with so many side effects.

  13. Good evening Dr. Berg, quick question does the ketogenic diet mimic fasting? Have you ever heard about benzodiazepines? And how would I come off of that harsh drug?

  14. I’ve had epilepsy since I was 5. I had brain surgery when I was 15 and for 12 years I was completely controlled by 500mg (2xs daily) for 12 years. January 18th this year I suffered from my first tonic/clonic seizure and it was so weird because the entire summer I was feeling extremely nauseous every day and then that night especially I was feeling nauseous so I went upstairs to get water and my parents were checking to see if they smelt any gas and then I was helping my dad put our doorknob on the door and started feeling tingling in my lower stomach and immediately knew it was an aura and i fell into my dad and then he was able to grab my arm before I fell down 13 steps but I still collapsed and hit my head on the floor and convulsed for what they said was 45 minutes and the paramedics said the same thing and I haven’t been the same since. They upped my dosage of the keppra and all I have done is sleep because of how depressed I’ve been since the seizure happened and I stay awake at night fearing SUDEP and not sure if it’s the medication dose change or my brain not being healed from suffering from that major seizure after not having any for 12 years but I’ve fallen into a massive depressive episode and I don’t leave my room unless I have to, was illegally fired from my job last month and being a 27 year old man not working or being able to drive has taken a toll on my mental health as well. I get extremely emotional at night now as well and can just start balling my eyes out when I think about the seizure and what it’s been like recovering from that type of seizure. Is that type of thing I just went through traumatic to the point where I have become bed ridden and a completely different person and will eventually fade as my brain recovers from the seizure and trauma it went through and will I start coming out of this funk or could that seizure after not having any for 12 years let alone never having a grand mal seizure in my entire life until recently have caused permanent damage?

  15. I've given B1 national yeast for my dogs. One has had seizures for years. Couldn't get his meds from his vet. Bla bla. Discovered B1 nutritional yeast and giving them no more wheat in their dry food. I've now cooked there for for over 8 plus years. No more seizures, zero

  16. The first minute of this video made me lose interest. I’ve had gellastic temporal lobe epilepsy since birth. I DO NOT convulse or have altered consciousness at all. B vitamins worsen my epilepsy frequency and and severity and the ketogenic diet did not work for me. Medications help but I am medication resistant. I am not a candidate for epilepsy surgery and vagal nerve stimulation does not suppress my epilepsy. While VNS does help suppress my appetite and potentiate ketosis it doesn’t help control my seizure frequency.

  17. Started seizures in 2000, spent next 17 years trying various drs/meds, no avail. Started keto in 2017, by 2018 went from 2-3 seizures per month to only 2 that year. In 2021 a child of mine died, I turned to carbs as a comfort–until I had a grand mal at work a few weeks ago. I'm back on keto, that was a wake up call for me.

  18. I suffer wiyh hemiplegic migraine with aura without pain. My neurologist said theres a link between this and epilepsy. Its genetic and my aunt has epilepsy and others in family have migraines too. Its a migraine that causes aura, loss of speech while happening , tingling in left side of face and arm. Feels like stroke but neurologist say its not its a misfiring if neurons in brain similar to epilepsy?! Idk. I wonder if keto would help.

  19. The Original Ketogenic Diet”

The Classic Ketogenic Diet is the original Ketogenic Diet that was designed in 1923 by Dr. Russell Wilder at the Mayo Clinic for the treatment of epilepsy. With a 4:1 ratio of fat to protein and carbs, 90% of calories come from fat, 6% from protein, and 4% from carb.

  20. I just happened across this video and decided to watch – the first red flag is that not all seizures have associated convulsions. Second is that the Keto diet is useful in SOME patients, not all. Third, why would people take the word of a chiropractor reading Wikipedia concerning neurological issues? Seizures can be life threatening, so work with an epileptologist concerning your seizures/epileptic diagnosis, not a chiropractor who is trying to increase the channel hits on his YouTube account.

Useful suggestions if your loved one has seizures – time it as best as you can. Try to take video if at all possible, this can help in it's diagnosis and classification. Do NOT put anything in their mouth or try to prevent them from moving or shaking. Try to protect their head by placing a pillow or other soft object between their head and whatever they may hit it on. When they have stopped seizing be aware that they will most likely be confused and may become combative in the post-ictal state. Try to be reassuring and protect both yourself and them by restraining them if needed until they are more coherent. Call emergency services for a seizure lasting more than a couple minutes (or longer than their typical episode) as this could lead to a condition called status epilepticus, this condition is life threatening and requires medical intervention.

  21. My step daughter was having seizures and the doctor wanted to put her on meds but I figured it out was caused by coffee my husbands side of the family was giving her. Doctor was furious but she only had one more seizure…. while visiting her grandma and drinking coffee.
