There have been four burglaries or attempted burglaries at marijuana businesses in Commerce City since the beginning of May.
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Since the beginning of the month, Commerce City Police have responded to four burglaries or attempted burglaries at marijuana shops.
According to a Facebook post from the agency, a vehicle used in at least one of the crimes has been recovered. They’re looking for another vehicle used to break into a business overnight Wednesday into Thursday in the 5400 block of Quebec Street.
That business was hit twice. The first time, the burglars were unable to breach the doors. The second time, they used a KIA with no plates to smash through the front of the building, causing thousands of dollars in damage. That was in addition to the products they stole once they were inside.
Police are looking for the two burglars seen in the video but believe others might also be involved. Commerce City Police said they’re working with other agencies in the metro area to determine whether similar crimes in their jurisdictions are connected.
Aurora Police confirmed they had two break-ins around 3 a.m. Thursday at businesses in a strip on East 6th Avenue. Police there said they were looking for four male suspects.
Anyone with information about the incidents in Commerce City should call the police tip line at 303-289-3626.
