Two Bryan men were arrested Thursday following a narcotics investigation that uncovered over 50 pounds of marijuana, according to the Bryan Police Department.
Jakeith Jones, 30, and Keeon Kelly, 20, have been charged with possession of marijuana in the amount of between 50 to 2,000 pounds, according to Brazos County Jail records.
On Thursday, the Bryan Police Department’s Directed Deployment Team was following up on a narcotics investigation in the 2400 block of Berger Drive, according to police. Officers said they made contact with Jones and Kelly and recovered 56 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $70,000.
Possession of between 50 to 2,000 pounds of marijuana is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.
Both Jones and Kelly are being held under $60,000 bonds.
