SHELDON—A 26-year-old Sanborn man was arrested about 7:50 a.m. Thursday, May 23, in Sheldon on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest of John Michael Bugay stemmed from the stop of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup for a window tint violation on 14th Street near 12th Avenue in Sheldon, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
The odor of marijuana was detected, and Bugay told the officer there was marijuana under the back seat, according to the incident report.
Two resealable bags of marijuana and a container for rolling paper were found.
