SUMNER, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in western Wisconsin say they arrested a man from Minnesota after 30 pounds of marijuana, one pound of methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia were found following a traffic stop.
According to a release from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop at 1:48 a.m. on July 27 near the 88-mile marker on Interstate 94 in the town of Sumner.
Officials say several indicators of criminal activity were seen during the traffic stop leading to the deployment of K9 Luke. K9 Luke positively indicated to the vehicle and deputies began a search of the vehicle.
Following the search, deputies found two duffle bags that contained about 30 pounds of marijuana, one pound of methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia.
The driver of the vehicle, Danny G. Reynold from New Hope, Minnesota, was arrested on several felony drug-related charges and taken to the Trempealeau County Jail.
At this time, no other information is available and an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
