  1. In Australia we face the issue of people being shut out of the job market as a result of our medical use. If you apply for a job that requires a drug and alcohol screen, you potentially run the risk of not getting that position. I myself have been let go because of my medical use, as the employer didnt want to run the risk of potential insurance and legal issues. Currently there is no framework in place to protect workers who choose to medicate themselves with natural products. So it comes down to the choice to I want to earn money to work and use pharmaceuticals to deal with any issues, or do I go down the holistic road use cannabis and run the risk of losing a job and being unemployed. Just another issues for legislators to deal with.

  2. From what I understood the Navy tried to replace hemp rope and failed chains are to brittle especialy in the ice areas nylon etc stretched way to much. Funny how we all had hemp everywhere then they came up with a synthetic petrolium products and hemp got criminilised ask Dupont why?

  3. Very interesting ile just be happy if in my lifetime the power of choice on Wether to consume a natural plant or not is given back to the people it is also a tax idea happily pay for the police to leave me alone personally I use it to help me with ptsd it helps me it stops the dreams that in itself is good I will keep using it but I'm also looking to be prescribed it I also see medicinal canabis as the first step to full adult availability the government will be amazed this is a tax most people would be happy to pay

  4. Biggest issue is. Australia made medical legal. But if you drive and it is in your system, not even active, BOOM no license for drug driving. Seems like a trap right there. A medical card will not help you avoid the fine and loss of license. Sounds like we can have it and use it medically, but if we do than we are reprimanded and branded as a criminal

  5. I moved to Adelaide in 2017. I'd been off weed for a few years, then realised that weed was half the cost in Adelaide, South Australia than in Sydney. I was buying an ounce for around $400 and all of a sudden I found out it was $200. Needless to say, I piped up again. And subsequently, my life turned to shit because I can't be a responsible stoner.

  6. You should have rang me mate. I can't watch this stuff is hemp even medical marijuana? I've spent over ten thousand dollars on medical marijuana and thanks to the stupid law in South Australia they took my license off me for six months. And now I am paranoid to drive. Whereas in Canada where marijuana has been used medically for a much longer time they have laws the same as in Tasmania where people who have a prescription don't get unfairly persecuted like this. Oh who counts the suicides?

  7. Been growing my own since the mid 90s. From hps to led. Indoor and outdoor. Helis fly over every now and then. See about 10-15 in fabric pots. But I don't think they care enough to bust me.

  8. they need to seperate pot from hard drugs, legalisation would also undermine organised crime, i barely drink alcohol anymore, just makes me feel crap, but i smoke every day, i love it for listening to music, and playing guitar. But mainly for my mental health, it helps me manage my recently diagnosed ADHD.

  9. im in Melbourne, where there are a lot of smokers and psychedelicized minds, its a great city for art and music too, like i said lots of turned on people , im 59 and have been smoking for 40 years, i do psychedelic art and play guitar as well, take it easy everyone.

  10. There has been almost no transition in Australia regarding marijuana laws. ACT is legal for tiny amounts of personal use. This is the only significant change in the last 40 years. South Australia has continued to be decriminalised for small amounts with on the spot fines the penalty. Victoria has changed to decriminalisation in recent years. The rest of Australia is illegal with a court case and possible conviction for any amount.
Anything above one ounce anywhere in Australia is treated as a more serious crime with possible jail time and other charges likely.
The only sources of marijuana available is to grow it in ACT or illegal drug trade carrying heavy penalties.
Australia's marijuana laws are some of the most hypocritical in the world because the Federal and state governments allow legal mass cultivation to selected corporations for private profit to produce medicinal products available only on prescription. This lobby of private interests will continue to block any attempts at legalisation forever is they can.

  11. You're all forgetting 1 important point ,,,the black market is half the price of Legal medical Cannabis and as long as that is the case this is the way it will remain.

  12. I doubt that big tobacco is concerned that cannabis might become more popular than tobacco.

They have the money, infrastructure and expertise, to easily pivot from dominating the tobacco industry to dominating the cannabis industry.

  13. I had to put myself on CBD/THC for my seizures which worked 100% better than synthetic bull$#iT with bugger all side effects.
My local GP wanted nothing to do with it..
Sad how stupid the system is..
However I do get a concession on my prescription which saves me a he'll of a lot of $$$ and its quality is consistent not to mention what the heck is in street cannabis..

  14. I've lost inches of my intestine due to years of opiate use for chronic pain. Can't take anti-spasmodic drugs for a disability I was born with, had several near misses with an end of life due to benzodiazepine withdrawal. 2 years on medicinal flowers and oils, including CBD oil. It has changed my life. I wish I could have justice for the pain and suffering caused by the harm done to me by "legal" pharmaceuticals. I've lost years off my life. Suffered months of agony from bowel obstructions. all completely unnecessarily. The suffering I've endured I actually feel like I want revenge for. But NOTHING will happen, because people like me can eat shit and die. We're still being fucked over. I hate this country and C@NTS who run it for their personal profit.
