Hmm if i have a thousand meters and i want to convert to km i would divide by 1000. That would give me one KM. So yes you divide one meter by a thousand you get 1/1000km or .001 km. This guy doesnt even understand the most basic of basic math.
Very cool and timely on the new GLP1 program! I heard you interview Tynna recently and it was fascinating. I just signed up with Transcend with you earlier this week so the timing of this program is perfect!
I think the protein information given to the young lady from Canada was incorrect… She said .8-1 grams per kilogram of body weight, it should be .8-1 gram per pound of body weight… In kilograms it would be 2 – 3 grams per kilogram of body weight. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
"The last thing you want to do, especially before an activity like a sport, where you are going to lift really heavy, is to completely relax a muscle that you are about to call upon, especially explosively, right."
Umm, gymnastics anyone? I competed in men's all round from 87 to 93. We always did a round of static stretching at the beginning of each practice or meet. We would also dynamically warm up before each event whether we were competing or practicing. Now maybe it's more of an edge case in your opinion, but think of baseball and football professionals warming up right now.
The teams and players have a vested interest in preventing injury. They are making a boatload of money. They were some of the first that we saw adopting dynamic stretches into their warm-ups. That being said, you can go to any game right now and watch them warm up. Most of their warm-ups are dynamic. However, you will find them doing a few static stretches.
To your point those stretches are targeted to specific muscles for that sport. However, what I am trying to point out is that you do see more static stretching still in today's athletes then you were alluding to. It's not like when I was in the army and everything was static, but neither is it completely dynamic either.
Been away a few weeks and not working out for the last month due to surgery on my foot. Slowly working back to my goals. Thanks for the inspiration that you share.
One thing I neglect almost every workout is properly priming. Need to try MAPS Prime, haven’t tried any of the programs yet but I’ve been listening to y’all for a while now and need to get into a program other than the Fitbod app I’ve been using for years.
Some of these podcasts need a disclaimer to not lift heavy things while listening. Luckily I was only pressing 10lb dumbbells when Sal said that was Forrest Gump and I lost it 😂 43:23
The GLP-1 program announcement brought tears to my eyes. I just started tirzepatide treatment last Friday. This program is exactly what I need. I’m 41, love weight lifting (but have just started back after a 7 year hiatus). I lost my dad 2 years ago to complications of type-2 diabetes. He was only 62. I have a 7 year old daughter and I can’t go down that same path.

Sal needs help. Or at least, beware of his personality traits.
Would love for someone to answer a question I have about stretching.. the women I learned most from when I started working out, would always say that after working a specific muscle you should stretch that muscle back to resting length.. I’ve been doing that for decades, however I’ve never heard anyone else mention it or never seen anyone in the gym ever do it.. is it even a thing?
I’ve been doing this ALL WRONG. I’ve been told (by one of the trainers at my gym) to warm up with cardio, then do 20 minutes of stretching and THEN start weight lifting. Thank you for this episode!!!
I love this conversation on stretching, but I feel like no discussion on stretching is complete without touching on the subject of fascia. I would love to hear you guys do a deep dive into fascia; the research is relatively new and so fascinating!
The Testosterone gal. DO THE T!!! It's worth it. Find a company or doc who will do compounded cream. You can cycle it. Once I started mine, life changed for the better! Plus it's health for our bones. Research, look into it. Listen to Dr Tyna talk about it and Dr Aime Hornaman (spelling but she is known as the thyroid fixer doc)….
I’ll admit, I cut static stretching and yoga a few years ago to focus on mobility. I stopped stretching after my workouts too. Wow, you bring up good points in the value of breathing with static stretching! I’m going to be incorporating breathing with static stretches after my workouts and before bed. Thank you, this was a great topic!!!
Sorry but these recent podcasts have gone so off topic they are hard to listen to i get it its probably not for everyone but I don't care about your personal life, unless its related to the topic I'm clicking for or other topic to be frank
I used to be the guy who laughed at the people stretching, but like so many times before, Mind Pump has completely made me rethink my old assumptions. Thank you for so consistently challenging, inspiring, and even entertaining in every episode you put out. Mind Pump is the best!
I love how mindpump is holisin their fitness approach
Adam: “So funny. Such an easy adjustment. Like, just stop doing the that.”
😂😂😂

There's no reason to be alive if you can't do deadlift

What is Sal doing to help his gut health?
Not a boomer😂

Otherwise known as Yin Yoga…..
I love you guys! I’m sharing MP with everyone.
Doesn't look like Baphomet at all, but a spring image of Mogh Lord of Blood 😅

Been stretching most nights before bed for 5+ years now, it helps me so much
Thank you for sharing all that you do! There is always something I learn from you guys!
😂😂 Adam's sister sounds like all of us women 😂

So fun fact—it’s a common misconception that Jenny from Forrest Gump died of aids. She actually died of Hep C bc of all of her drug usage.
I also recommend the book—it’s waaaay different.

I think you guy’s are brilliant already, but coming out with this new maps GLP1 is the smartest thing you could have done. Geniuses!!!
