  1. Doc, against my better judgement, I gave my border collie Apoquel for about a week, bc Zyrtec didn't seem to be doing much to calm the itching. I also gave her simultaneously Dr. Reckeweg's R21 homeopathic formula which cured her of her allergy to flea bites. She still has a few fleas but her skin is healthy again and no itching and scratching. Happy dog, happy mom. It took about 3 weeks for the R21 to make a difference and by week 4 she was back to normal. A while back my homeopathy teacher attended a conference were a veterinarian certified in homeopathy said that prior to 1980 skin issues in domestic animals were relatively unheard of. 🧐 Interestingly, after 1980 massive vaccination protocols were implemented. Apparently the same thing happened after 1987 with children. From my own personal experience, I'd venture to say it was way before that. In the end I never gave my dog the Bravecto the vet prescribed and I'm glad I didn't. FYI, most health food stores in Canada carry Dr. Reckeweg but in the US we have to buy it online. Back to basics folks…we've got this! Thank Doc, you're the best! Keep'em coming. Smile😊

  2. I wonder if you would do an expose on carprophen? My dog was on that for several years for arthritis. Seemed to help. After a few years she started acting/looking very old suddenly; not wanting to move or go for walks, lethargic, tail droopy, dull eyed. Was getting worse and worse. She also started not really wanting to eat, I had to entice her and even that did not get her too excited about food. She stopped eating for 5 days, so she stopped having the carprophen. Suddenly she was a brand new dog! Running around, jumping all over, tossing her toys, prancing around, eating like a hog and tail up and wagging 24/7. It was the carprophen that was affecting her and I never would have known had she not stopped taking it. I will never give her that again.

  3. My dog is on Apoquel because nothing else was working. She went through the loading dose phase and after she improved enough (20 additional daily doses) she was placed on as needed. Two reasons I was not happy about her taking this drug. 1. It effects her natural immune system in ways most people do not understand. 2. When I'm giving my dog a medicine that I can't touch…that tells me it's going to have negative effects. That is why she doesn't get it every day and she will be monitored for skin changes, activity levels, and anything out of the ordinary. I have noticed a raised, round area on her hind leg that I am watching and if it doesn't get better soon I will be taking her back to vet to be checked. I'm currently dealing with treating a stray for positive (x2 testing at different places) heart worm. It's a blessing from God that I am able to do this but it is expensive when compared to preventive measures that would have not put him at risk of dying too early and unnecessarily. Great lil man but he was not in the best situation before finding me. God is good and there's no such thing as an accident. Be blessed 🙌🙌🙌❤❤❤

  4. Hi Dr Jones, I recently found your channel and have found it really helpful for suggestions in helping my dog with her allergy issues. I think Melatonin would help her but unfortunately it is only available on prescription in the UK. Is there any herbal supplement that may have a similar benefit you could recommend? Would Valerian work in a similar way?

  5. Can you talk about cytopoint next? My girl had recurrent utis was on apoquel for several years but it was so hard to get rid of the utis then they put us on prescription food for that and she got two different cancers within a few years and passed in June from the spleen cancer we did not know about.
I felt like that combo was asking for cancer but my partner didn’t want her to itch… we decided it wasn’t working well anymore and switched to the cytopoint injection about half a year before she passed.
My new rescue is itching and I’m not sure about cytopoint but I know I will never use apoquel again.

  6. My Vet gave it to one of my pets for allergies but it’s very expensive and most dogs like mine get immune to it very quickly. I stopped giving it to him. Occasionally, I give him a Benadryl if needed but not often. My Dachshund has one ear that has such bad ear infections that for two years now he has had to have that sticky stuff put in his ear and on so many different antibiotics. Plus, his anal glands were getting impacted on a monthly basis. I started feeding him The Farmers Dog food exclusively and his anal gland issue is gone and his ear is actually clear with no infection. He is almost 13 years old. To have a lateral ear reduction scares me. I will do what is best for him, but putting him under anesthesia is the last resort if I can find a safer solution.

  7. I've just had a second dog out on it and my other one has cytopoint injection. Is it likely that the cytopoint would have similar affects? I'm in the process of sorting sensitivity tests as never been offered to try and establish if possible allergies. Thank you for this video.

  8. My dog developed an allergy and started losing his fur. First at the base of his tail. Then spread to groin, chest, armpit, hind legs, forelegs and ears. Apoquel did not help. Quercetin did not help. Children's multivitamin did, fresh food, Paleo diet (no legumes, seed grains, and starchy veggie) did.

Finally after two years, doing two leaky gut treatments, two rounds of yeast cleansing, and liver support, his fur started growing back and his itchiness subsided.

In retrospect, I'm wondering if spay/neuter is the reason why all these dogs itch. It would be very interesting if someone published a study between the types of illnesses our dogs have here vs in Europe where most dogs are intact. I bet they are different.

  9. I read all the comments & Im very angry. I thought my dog is a case but obviously we are lot struggling because of dangerous vet & pharma endoctrination. I adopted my 3yrs old maltese when he was 1,8 yrs old…lot of injections & vaccines before & a very strict diet : only "royal canin", pills & chemical stuff each month againt parasits, flea etc.
I started giving him some vegetables & fruits as snack and he did a crisis after a bath in the vet cabinet…terrible !
He beated himself deeply..of course, everybody told me : No Food its the cause.
Each 2 month an other crisis, I almost tried everything between natural remedies & cooking, changed the dog food 5 or 6 times & a new since 8 months..he's patient & sincere but completely unaware of the reality.
Btw the pesticides outside when we go to the park, the sick cats in the street..its a nightmare unless I locked him inside wich is impossible.
The vet gave use Apoquel this monday, I did a prayer for a sign..boom your video tuesday…he's under apoquel for 10 days as a treatment test and the vet told me : Its one med for life & goodbye allergia.
Btw us, its so clear, the vaccines, nexgard (intern parasites pills), the pipes destroyed his immunity, he's brave, patient & strong but a very very sensible skin to restore.
Im angry & very tired because Im in front of people whose completely under hypnosis with no reflection, trust the science pfff
Thank your Dr, Im from Casablanca Morocco & I wish if you were there 😢

  10. My dog has leg tremors now he was on that for only 2 months. It's been almost a year his legs still shake. That medicine didn't even work for him. He suffers serious environmental and food allergies. We are using your methods and have it under control about 90%.

  11. I live in the uk and I had to take my dog to the vet because of her skin and constant scratching and the vet tried to give me this drug for my dog and I said no because of the side effects I then got told my vet was going to report me for cruelty which he did but when they turned up at my house for animal cruelty they was shocked to see the dog was in good health and well looked after so I reported the vet and found myself a good understanding vet who listed and understood

  12. I took my pup off Apoquel a few years back. She had been on it for roughly 6 months when her liver enzymes started elevating and she was passing lots of blood in her stool. Nothing helped. The vet said if the enzymes continued rising at this rate, we needed to start treating her for Cushing's. I'm still unsure why I responded this way but I immediately did a deep dive on Apoquel and found all the information (plus) you mentioned here. I made copies of my findings and took them up to my vet. I was sure everyone would be so intrigued and appreciative… Absolutely not the case. The vet's office was not interested in any of it (and I get it somewhat).

I decided to devise my own plan. I reworked my homemade dog food using your "homemade dog food recipe" as a base. I fasted her and got to cooking. I added flaxseed, psyllium husk, vitamins, and minerals, etc. I purchased Urinox-10 urinalysis sticks/sterile cups, tested her for about 3 months, and watched the elevated enzymes fade away. She (an 11-year-old Shih-Tzu/Maltese mix) no longer has elevated liver enzymes, allergies, eye staining, or any GI issues. It shocked my vet!

I was sharing this information with my Aunt one day. Her eyes opened up like saucers and she said, Sammy (her precious Cocker Spaniel) passed loaded with cancer and he was on Apoquel most of his life. I'm not blaming anyone (yet) but the look on her face was so infuriating to me.

  13. THANK YOU DR JONES for being brave and getting the word out to users of this drug and it’s cancerous side effects . I’m grateful that just one day after my post , he felt moved to share it in this informative video along with yet so many mkre
    Natural remedies we will
Be trying for our Rudy’s Atopy allergies . So much respect and gratitude for Dr. Jones and how is helping so many pet owners . I’ll be selecting some of his remedies to help our beloved dog continue in his recovery ahead . 😓

  14. I took my dog off Apoquel and put him on Cytopoint…didnt see any side effects at all. I thought it would be safer by being a monoclonal antibody. Then I heard that it also has a negative affect on the immune system. So I put him on all natural supplements from I heart dogs (allergy & itch chews) and Harmony from Four Leaf Rover. Between the 2 of them, they contain some of what Dr. Jones recommends…Colostrum and Quercetin. These kept his allergy in check.
