My plant is in the pre flowering stage and what i did is i cut a small branch off of it and placed it into water and after an hour in water i placed it in dirt. Do you think it will grow or will it die?

I found if I use Willow branches from New Growth and cutting them into 1-inch pieces soaking them in water overnight is great for cutting it's something to do with the hormones in the weeping willow trees
