Are there any side effects of this anti seizure tablet epi paws ? Because my dog is feeling very uncomfortable and is crying a lot after taking this tablet
Hello. My dog survived Distemper's at 3 months old in early 2021, since then the dog's been seizure free until last august with events once a month while sleeping.. I've observed that my dog gives signals of the imminent seizure starting about 10 minutes before the attack. Can I do something at that stage or the seizure is unavoidable?
Very difficult to pinpoint a trigger with my dog as she normally has them at 2 am, she will crawl up to my chest and tap me with her paw. We normally go to bed at 11 pm and we are all relaxed, no stress in our house we are in our 60s. My dog is on Epiphen and unfortunately the side effects are liver damage (which we give her Milk Thistle for). And the other side effect is seizures and I have this on good faith as my nephew is a pharmacist.
Hmm … very interesting video! I’ve got a question, I had a experience with my dog few weeks ago, some brainless were throwing firecrackers close to us in one of our daily walks, my dog was terrified. 24 hours later had a seizure. It could be a relation if happened the seizure 1 day after the traumatic experience? Thanks in advance for your time and help !
Edit: you just mentioned it a little after on the video. So why my vet said it was not possible? Oh im confused… I started to give my dog MCT Oil
I noticed that the bright sun and heat brought on a seizure, once when he was 3 months old in his sleep. He is 2 now. Seems to have them less. I hope he grows out of it
My little Pom Roxy (b. Jan 2015) ) was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. Her grand mal cluster seizures started just before her third birthday and she was put on 5:15 phenobarbitone. I found out recently that she is intolerant to her Satiety dry food. She can eat 10gms ok but 20gms will bring back the seizures. She was 4 years seizure free then I put the satiety back up to 20gms and her seizures returned 17 days later then between 16 to 18 days until I realised. Her meds had been changed to every 8 hours to try and stop the dip at same time as lowering satiety and I had always believed that’s why her seizures stopped . Roxy is now on raw food and we are counting months seizure free I still am aware that overheating can bring on a seizure also a camera flash.
My cat has seizures, very short though, i have noticed stress is a main factor, stress of moving or going to the vets, loud noises ect. .while he has seizures i talk calmly to him ❤ we must stay calm too 😊
So, what does one do when these triggers cannot be fixed? My senior intact dog cannot be spayed. I am recently divorced and moving soon = stress. What do I do to be proactive?
Thanks for the information! You mentioned those 3 flea / tick medications that a dog with epilepsy probably shouldn’t have! Can you recommend any brands they can have? Thanks 😊
My dog experienced his first cluster seizure today, he never had cluster before and the gap between both seizures were 2-3 hours. I think the trigger might be the heat, since its almost 40°celcius here.
Hello i have a dog who just started having seizures its really scary thanks for the video so now i can look for triggers prayers to all the fur babes that have seizures 🙏🏻
My Mal has mild seizures that can last a few minutes, he walks, and walks crashes into stuff and then he drops to the floor for about 2 hrs. When he wakes up it’s like nothing has happened, but he hasn’t had one in over 6 months after he started his meds.
Ive been lucky with my boys Bigfoot and Arnold they never had a seizure in their life time..but ive heard of others that had senior dogs who had seizures when they got older. Thanks for the upload dr alex in helping other pet parents..
