Mislabeled & Illegal CBD Products sold at convenience stores test similar to marijuana

While North Carolina remains one of 12 states where marijuana — medical or not — remains illegal, WRAL Investigates found …

  1. You can tell these reporters have no idea what they are talking about. Those cases didn’t go anywhere because the people suing and reporters like these don’t do any real research into what hemp is, and get confused when the judge throws out the case. Every kind of Thc is legal federally except delta 9.

  2. The worst thing you can do is legalize something with NO HISTORY. Just wait until that stuff has been out for at least 5 years and people start having side effects that they can't explain or pinpoint. Nc is a fking joke man

  3. dude yall are so misinformed! if you had any knowledge on what you were testing, you wouldn't need a test to see that its similar because it literally says delta-10 sativa, the other one says thc-a, and the other has more info on the back and the front where its covered. 😐 stop giving medical and recreational thc or hemp a bad rep

  4. OTC marijuana light.. you all used GC/MS which heated and converted the thca into thc. Good job providing misinformation. They are only delta 9 thc when you convert it. Sad that these people report stuff like this and don’t go into detail on the farm bill itself, which makes hemp derived cannabinoids more or less legal. The people pumping these products are federally compliant based upon the agricultural hemp laws. Here you have to be 21+ to buy cannabis products. Hallucinations from edibles generally come from having little to no tolerance. Maybe don’t eat the entire bag of edibles when you don’t know how it will hit you. People with functioning brains shouldn’t be inconvenienced because some are careless and misuse products. D8, 10, 11, THC-O, THC-P are legal. No one should be consuming things that they cannot comprehend. The biggest thing to take home about this article is the fact that most of those sources followed federal law to produce their products. These people may not like it, but clearly nobody reporting here respects cannabis in the least. Luckily most of the country is on our side 💚

  5. In order to sell these products in the first place, it must be sent to a lab registered with the DCP as a controlled substance laboratory. Different types of testing can get different results with cannabis or hemp. There's gas chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography. Gas chromatography is often used with mass spectrometry or flame ionization detection, which can actually turn the natural THCa into delta-9 THC due to the testing process. High-performance liquid chromatography can test THCa content without derivatization. That's why when cops sometimes test THCa flower, they use Gas chromatography and the THCa turns into the controlled substance delta-9 THC.

  6. Well, at first I was going to consider this fear mongering. However, when the scientist mentioned the possibility of unknowingly consuming 500mg of THC instead of 30mg due to mislabeling, I can understand the issue here. That's more than enough to ruin someone's day. Still, 90% of this video was promotional. Anyway, please excuse me while I go research these horribly dangerous moonrocks of which you speak.

  7. 😂some medical Marijuana flowers are upwards of 30% thc, that is 100x the legal limit😂 3% is laughable its almost like the legal product industry isnt able to pay the salaries required to hire lab techs who can do math properly, 10x the legal limit means the guy who made that batch messed up the concentrate solution from doing his math wrong😅😂😢 sad almost, they lost a lotnof money because of that mistake

  8. Well, some of it is that due to testing methods, its gonna decarb products and once decarbed of course it gonna pop on a test. Another aspect is due to natural curing, over time a product will naturally decarb and pop on a test. This whole problem has come about because lawmakers honestly have no idea what they are doing in regards to marijuana. It kinda feels like sour grapes. Law enforcement is upset the easy targets ain't so easy anymore. This is specific to THCA products. Its only technically mislabelling because the amounts change from natural decarbing, so the results will vary from different moments after harvest. The analysts know this. Its just easy money for them.
